Inside the Bitters Co. Barn exists: a design studio, packing room, workshop, and spacious hay loft. Resulting from decades of relationships developed with artisans local and abroad, our homewares collection is received, stored, and shipped from the Barn. The collection reflective of a blend of traditional craft, use of sustainable materials, and modern sensibilities. We work directly with producers, shippers, and you, our customers; a method we call transparent direct. At the Barn we also welcome visitors for special occasions, with featured artists of the region exhibiting their talents in our hay loft. The Barn is our sanctuary, our 5 acre farm in the abundant Skagit Valley of Washington State our home.
In 1993, we established Bitters Co., honoring our mother by using her maiden name for our business. The company logo came about after a family trip to Japan and China in the early 80’s - kanji for middle, within, inside. These concepts, to be a central part of daily living, the foundation of Bitters Co., recognizing the beauty of hand made functional items used at home.
